Yakira Mishan, MD

Yakira graduated cum laude from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa. She further completed her International Board certification in Lifestyle Medicine and completed 3 years of internship and community service in South Africa .During this time she worked in resource limited settings and came to truly appreciate the inequalities within health care.

 She is an aspiring neurologist and neuro-ophthalmologist who is passionate about the impact that social determinants have on her patient's health and how they contribute to their illnesses . She is extremely excited to be involved in the Global Neurology field and hopes that through this she is able to improve access to neurological care for patients in low and middle income and resource poor settings
